ROMA is a universe inspired by Ancient Rome. Players start in a village, work the fields and the mine, trade and climb Roman society until they reach political influence and, perhaps, imperial power.

What’s new · November 2026

The Great Empire Update

What this update brings to ROMA. These are new systems, with rules and numbers that will still be tuned with players.

  1. Hierarchy and Nobility

    From Peasant to Emperor, with Prestige and Fame. A Noble lives off their own business: the title pays no salary.

  2. Elected Senate

    Free candidacy, campaigning and voting. Each cycle the 2 least influential senators leave, with no lottery.

  3. The Emperor’s Government

    Salaries with a public record, the Treasury, class satisfaction, investments and laws with real effects.

  4. Guard and Centurion

    From 2 to 10 soldiers per rank; a battalion of 15 with loyalty, and the possibility of betrayal.

  5. Deposition and Supreme Court

    The Senate, the high priest and the centurion must all sign. Judges can request protection but cannot veto.

  6. Throne and gods

    The emperor chats by text with the session’s gods. Voice is not switched on yet.

  7. New look

    HUD, icons, panels, Roman clothing and battalions of avatars.
